SUMMARY:*WORKSHOP FULL* Tuning in to Kids - Online Facilitator Training Workshop for professionals - July 29\, 30 & August 3
DESCRIPTION:Tuning in to Kids is an evidence based parenting program developed by Dr. Sophie Havighurst and Ann Harley in Melbourne\, Australia with research trials conducted through The University of Melbourne. The program provides a new way of working with families that focuses on the emotional connection between parents and children. The program teaches parents skills in emotion coaching\, which is to recognise\, understand and manage their own and their children’s emotions. \nTuning in to Kids ONLINE VIA ZOOM is a 3-half-day professional development workshop that gives trainees a grounding in the concepts of Emotional Intelligence and Emotion Coaching. The workshop blends lecture-style and experiential learning modules. Pre-reading and video material will be sent prior to the first session. This workshop is suitable for all experienced and qualified workers in the caring sector whose client base includes children (approximately 3 – 10 years) and their parents. Participants who complete the workshop receive a certificate that authorises them to deliver the Tuning in to Kids 6-week parenting program to parents and carers. \nTrainees are asked to login before or by 8.45am AEST for a 9.00am start – work will finish at 1.00pm each day of the workshop – Wednesday July 29\, Thursday July 30 and Monday August 3.  \nPlaces are limited. Participants will receive a zoom link after enrolling. Digital and hardcopy workshop materials will be sent by email and post. Participants outside Australia will be charged additional materials postage – payable after registration. We strongly encourage participants to test their zoom link\, supporting software and hardware prior to the first session. Please also note\, you must attend all three zoom sessions – July 29\, 30 and August 3 in order to receive certification.
